Massachusetts Eye Doctor on Contact Lens iPhone App
Massachusetts Eye Doctor on Contact Lens iPhone App

Massachusetts Eye Doctor Dr. Michael Fu reviewed an iPhone app to help contact lens wearers. This is potentially very helpful. There is a new iPhone and iPad app available that provides a convenient way to keep track of how many times you have worn your reusable contact lenses. No more having to wonder if its time to replace your contacts. This is a nice way to help keep your contact lenses safe and your eyes healthy, commented Dr. Fu. Proper lens replacement is critical to your eyes health when wearing contacts. The app is available at iTunes for contact lens wearers to have a look at.

If you or someone you know wears contact lenses and would like more information about the iPhone and iPad app they are encouraged to contact DAmbrosio Eye Care by calling us at 800-325-3937, visiting DAmbrosio Eye Care or facebook.com.

Massachusetts Eye Surgeons on Glaucoma Cataracts
Massachusetts Eye Surgeons on Glaucoma Cataracts
Cataract patients with glaucoma have the option of a new treatment option at DAmbrosio Eye Care. Massachusetts eye surgeon Francis DAmbrosio, Jr., M.D. shared some thoughts about the iStent® Trabecular Micro-Bypass Stent as a treatment option to reduce eye pressure for cataract patients with glaucoma. We started using iStent® to better help cataract patients with glaucoma. Its really meaningful as we believe patients will need to use fewer eye drops for their glaucoma treatment and we are hopeful that they might not need to use prescription eye drops at all, explained Dr. DAmbrosio Jr.
The iStent® is FDA-approved for use in conjunction with cataract surgery to reduce eye pressure in adult patients with mild-to moderate open-angle glaucoma currently being treated with glaucoma medicine. In clinical trials, iStent® has been shown to safely reduce eye pressure, which is the primary cause of open-angle glaucoma.
What we know-and frankly what concerns us, is that 90% of glaucoma patients do not follow the instructions for using their glaucoma eye drops and some 50% actually discontinue taking their medication after 6 months. This is a real problem as when the eye pressure is not well controlled it increases the risk of permanent irreversible vision loss, further emphasized Dr. DAmbrosio Jr. Thats why I brought iStent® into our practice-its an important advancement in preserving eye health and vision.
Massachusetts Glaucoma Specialist Bin Wu, M.D. of DAmbrosio Eye Care added, As an eye surgeon who is a glaucoma specialist and performs cataract surgery, what I am impressed with is the very tiny-microscopic-size of the iStent®. This allows me to implant it without adding too much time during cataract surgery and without my patients even being aware of it in the eye. In addition-if we can help patients use less eye drops or none at all, this lowers the cost of their ongoing glaucoma care which is very important.

Boston Specialist on Cataract Surgery Recovery
Boston Specialist on Cataract Surgery Recovery
Boston Cataract Surgeon & Specialist Francis DAmbrosio, Jr., M.D. shared information about patient expectations of cataract surgery recovery. At DAmbrosio Eye Care and The Cataract & Laser Center of Gardner we routinely perform cataract removal and lens implants using a very tiny incision, with no needles and usually only eye drops for anesthesia, explained Dr. DAmbrosio. For the great majority of our patients the postoperative course is very comfortable and unremarkable. Typically, most patients dont require pain medications and at most have a slight foreign body feeling from the incision which usually clears in a few hours. The vision the next day can range from being excellent or at times a bit cloudy, depending on the amount of residual swelling in the cornea. Patients with mild cataracts generally have very little swelling. Very dense cataracts require more energy to remove, and this can produce more swelling in the cornea. This swelling usually clears quickly and most patients see quite well in a few days, Dr. DAmbrosio further explained. Depending on the type of lens implant you have had there may be a little adaptation. For example, if you have had a near vision presbyopia correcting multifocal lens implant there may be re-learning of how to see far and near. Most patients adapt pretty quickly.
If you or someone you know has questions about cataract, cataract surgery, lens implants or the recovery from any type of eye surgery please feel free to schedule an eye exam at DAmbrosio Eye Care by calling us at 800-325-3937, visiting DAmbrosio Eye Care or facebook.com/dambrosioeyecare.

Boston Corneal Specialist on Herpes Eye Infections
Boston Corneal Specialist on Herpes Eye Infections
Boston Corneal Specialist JoAnn C. Chang, M.D. commented on Herpes Simplex eye infections. I like to educate patients with cornea infections about the seriousness of Herpes Simplex eye infections as this type of eye infection actually affects many more people each year than one might think, stated Dr. Chang of DAmbrosio Eye Care which serves greater Boston and central Massachusetts. Ocular herpes or herpes of the eye is caused by the herpes simplex virus and is the most common causes of corneal blindness in the United States today. Up to 50% of people who have a single herpes simplex viral infection of the eye will experience a flare up or recurrence. The virus often leads to irreversible scarring of the cornea and possible the need for a corneal transplant.
Ocular herpes may start as a painful sore on the eyelid or surface of the eye. If left untreated, it may multiply and begin to destroy epithelial cells and progress deeper into the cornea. If the ocular herpes penetrates the deeper layers of the cornea and causes a stromal keratitis it may cause corneal scarring-so prompt diagnosis and treatment of ocular herpes is important.
It is estimated that 400,000 people in the United States have had some type of ocular herpes, with more than 50,000 initial and recurring cases being diagnosed each year. Of these, it is believed that 25% are the more severe form of herpes stromal keratitis. The recurrence of herpes simplex eye infections is significant in that it appears to recur in about 10% of patients with one year, 23% of patients within two years and 63% of patients within 20 years of their initial infection. Sometimes a recurrence can be prompted by sunlight, stress, fevers or an unrelated eye injury. Quick diagnosis and treatment is the key to avoiding corneal scarring, vision loss and the possible need for a corneal transplant.
If you or someone you know is experiencing any signs or symptoms of corneal infection-especially if they have had any trauma to their eyes-please call DAmbrosio Eye Care at 800-325-3937 and request an immediate appointment with Massachusetts Corneal Specialist JoAnn C. Chang, M.D.

Home Remedies for Dry Skin on Dogs
Home Remedies for Dry Skin on Dogs
While your puppy or dog may be a playful little companion for you, and you probably believe that having a pet is all fun and games, the truth is even this little one is prone to its own set of problems and illnesses. Among the many problems that afflict dogs is that of dry skin. It may be manageable in the initial stages, but later gets worse when the itching sets in due to skin problems. Dry skin usually indicates a problem with your dogs health, that most probably, it is not getting the nutrients it requires for healthy skin. Another reason that may contribute to dry skin on your dog is that you are over bathing it. The chemicals in the shampoos, etc. that you use to clean your dogs may strip their skin off its natural moisture, thereby, leaving it dry. Fortunately, these conditions can be remedied at home by following some simple steps.
Home Remedies
The following remedies are suitable when the condition is not too serious. If you find that your dogs skin is too dry and is becoming itchy, visit the vet immediately, who will then treat it with appropriate medication.
- Use a special shampoo meant for dry skin on dogs. Just like our skin is prone to drying out in winters, so is the case with dogs. As such, in the winters, dont bathe your dog too often, and use a shampoo that has been specifically made for dogs with dry skin. This will ensure that its skin does not dry out as much.
- Pet your dog often. Petting your dog often will promote the circulation of natural oils in the dogs skin, that will then keep the skin moisturized. Alternately, you may also brush your dogs coat often to ensure this circulation. Brushing will also get rid of the flaky skin and promote the development of healthy new skin.
- Improve your dogs diet. As mentioned earlier, more often than not, dog health problems emerge from a poor diet. Thus, give your pet high-grade dog food that is meant to improve its overall health, and the quality of its skin and coat. It has been found that adding a teaspoon of olive oil or flaxseed oil to your dogs food will treat dry skin on dogs belly and every other body part, and make it healthy. Flaxseed oil consists of omega 3 essential fatty acids that are a good nutrient for healthy skin.
- Try an oatmeal bath. Dog health experts suggest that soaking your dog in colloidal oatmeal while bathing, for about 15 minutes, will relieve the itchy skin that is most often the result of dry skin.
- Tackle the source of dry skin. Sometimes dry skin in dogs is caused due to parasitic infestations. For instance, if you notice dry skin on dogs ears, it is probably ear mites in dogs that are causing the itching and the associated dry skin. Use some mineral oil dipped in a cotton ball on the affected area to get rid of the ear mites and relieve the itching and dry skin temporarily.
- Use olive oil on the affected area. Many a time you will notice dry skin on a localized patch and nowhere else on its body. For instance, a lot of people have noticed dry skin on dogs nose without a trace of any other illness. This can be treated simply by applying a swab of cotton lightly dipped in olive oil on the affected area, as many times as required, to treat it.

Boston Glaucoma Specialist on Medical Marijuana
Boston Glaucoma Specialist on Medical Marijuana
Medical marijuana is promoted as a treatment for many diseases, including glaucoma. Boston Glaucoma Specialist Bin Wu, M.D. discussed medical marijuana and glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye disease in which the optic nerve becomes damaged over time, reducing peripheral vision. If not properly diagnosed and treated it can lead to blindness. One cause of the optic nerve damage in glaucoma is higher-than-normal pressure within the eye, called intraocular pressure or IOP, explained Dr. Wu of DAmbrosio Eye Care with offices in Athol, Lancaster, Acton & Gardner, Massachusetts. Currently glaucoma treatment for the most part is to lower IOP levels with eye drops, laser treatment, oral medications and sometimes surgery depending on the type of glaucoma and how severe it is.
The effect that marijuana has on your ability to function is not the only side effect from the drug, however. Marijuana cigarettes contain hundreds of compounds that damage the lungs. Research has shown that regular and frequent use of marijuana, particularly in high doses, can cause problems with short-term memory and concentration.
As scientists learn more about glaucoma, they have also come to understand that IOP is not the only factor that damages the optic nerve. Recent studies characterize glaucoma as a neurologic disease similar to Parkinsons or Alzheimers. And, there is increasing evidence that reduced flow of blood to the optic nerve may also cause damage in patients with glaucoma. Unfortunately, marijuana not only lowers IOP, but it lowers blood pressure throughout the body. As a result, it has the potential to lower the blood flow to the optic nerve, effectively canceling out the benefit of a lowered IOP. So, while marijuana can temporarily lower your IOP, its not recommended for treating glaucoma. Prescription medications, laser and surgical treatments have been tested and proven as effective treatments for the glaucoma.
If you or someone you know has questions about eye exams, glaucoma and medical marijuana they are encouraged to schedule an eye examination at DAmbrosio Eye Care by calling us at 800-325-3937, visiting DAmbrosio Eye Care or facebook.com/dambrosioeyecare so that we can help recommend an appropriate treatment plan.

Frozen on Ice!
Frozen on Ice!
Back in February, I bought tickets to Disneys Frozen on Ice. That seemed like a blue million years ago and I pretty much forgot all about it until I got the email reminder this week to print my tickets. And today was finally the day to take the kids.
We didnt tell them about it until this morning. Mostly cause I didnt want them asking me for the last 240 nights how many more times they have to sleep until they get to see Frozen. And I guess no one was talking about it at school because Lily never mentioned it.

The kids had a great time. Even Joel and I enjoyed the show. But I have to say that watching Lilys face was probably better than watching the show. The whole experience gave me the Disney bug again. You know, the one where you get the itch to spend thousands of dollars to walk around in the heat and wait in endless lines with a couple whiny kids. Oh wait, I mean, make memories and meet Mickey. Yeah, that bug. Ive got it. Must wait. Will not take kids till they are done with naps. Be strong.

Yeah, that bug. Ive got it. Must wait. Will not take kids till they are done with naps. Be strong.
Anyhow, we told them this morning about an hour before it was time to leave. Lily got all dressed up in her Elsa dress and when I was fixing her hair into an Elsa braid, Tyler comes over and tells me he wants to wear a costume. Whoops. Did not even think about that. I told him he could wear his fireman costume but he didnt want that. He wanted Spiderman - which barely fit him LAST Halloween. No way to fit in it now. Uhhg. Mommy fail. Fortunately for my guilt-meter he forgot all about wearing a costume a few minutes later and all was good. Whew. Bullet dodged.
We flew out the door and made a pit stop at Crackerbarrel for some pancakes. Then off to the show.
We got to our seats about 5 minutes ahead of show time which was perfect. Any more and I think I would have gone nuts with telling Lily to be patient for just a few more minutes. She wanted to see Elsa NOW.
Our seats were perfect. We were close enough that we could see the characters faces but up high enough to see the whole arena at a glance. And no one was immediately in front of us - we had a completely unobstructed view.
Our seats were perfect. We were close enough that we could see the characters faces but up high enough to see the whole arena at a glance. And no one was immediately in front of us - we had a completely unobstructed view.
The opening number was of lots of Disney characters - but none from Frozen. Lily looked INCREDIBLY disappointed. Wheres Elsa? Wheres Anna?? Mommy??! Where are they?!?!? Relax child. Theyll be here soon.
We bumped in to "Elsa" on the way out. Lily looks up at me and asks if she can give Elsa a hug. I said, "Of course!" and she practically mows some people down trying to make her way through the crowd to hug Elsa (aka some random woman dressed up in an Elsa costume hugging children outside the arena...standing next to two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles....with a tip bucket in front of them....thats not weird at all...).
Both kids were snoring within minutes of getting on the road after it was all over. Success!
I think I teared up at least 4 times during the show. 1) Lily was freakin cute singing those songs and watching Tyler clap and smile was priceless and 2) I just kept feeling grateful that we can afford to give our kids these memories and that we were taking the time to do it all together as a family. When we were at Crackbarrel, a waitress came up to say hi to our Elsa and comment on her beauty. She was talking about how she remembers getting to see Smurfs on Ice as a kid and how memorable that was her. Then somehow it becomes clear that she has a daughter but will not be taking her to the show. It wasnt like a "poor, poor pitiful me" kind of conversation but I just felt so sorry for that woman who had fond memories of Ice Capades but couldnt give that same gift to her daughter.
We are so lucky.

Massachusetts LASIK Surgeon on Contact Lenses for Swimming
Massachusetts LASIK Surgeon on Contact Lenses for Swimming
Massachusetts LASIK Surgeon Francis DAmbrosio, Jr., M.D. commented on the risks and benefits of LASIK vs. contact lenses for swimming. Contact lenses and swimming are not a good combination, stated Dr. DAmbrosio of DAmbrosio Eye Care of DAmbrosio Eye Care with offices in Athol, Lancaster, Acton & Gardner. Our clinical experience and the recommendation of the FDA is that contact lenses not be exposed to any form of water in order to avoid eye health risk. For this reason, anyone who swims or participates in water sports or activities should give consideration to LASIK as the preferred method of vision correction today, explained Dr. DAmbrosio. With a careful examination and thorough consultation, we have a good idea of what patients can expect from LASIK in our office."
It is generally known that wearing contact lenses for swimming and water sports and activities poses a risk of Acanthamoeba Keratitis, a potentially catastrophic eye infection of the cornea. Acanthamoeba Keratitis is caused by an organism present in all forms of impure water such as swimming pools, tap water, saunas, wells and even showers.
Contact Lenses are really quite safe to wear if your follow proper care guidelines and instructions. However, if water restrictions such as swimming, bath tubs and showering are part of your daily routine, you do need to keep your lenses out. Many more patients-even very successful contact lens wearers-finds this to be a hassle and are now interested in discussing LASIK as an option, said Dr. DAmbrosio.
If you or someone you know has questions about swimming with contact lenses or participating in water sports with contact lenses or would like to learn more about LASIK or even schedule a Free LASIK Consultation please feel free to contact us to schedule a Free Consultation at DAmbrosio Eye Care by calling us at 800-325-3937, visiting DAmbrosio Eye Care or facebook.com/dambrosioeyecare so that we can help determine whether you are a good candidate.

Boston Doctor on Double Vision or Diplopia
Boston Doctor on Double Vision or Diplopia
Boston eye doctor Francis A. DAmbrosio Jr., M.D. comments on double vision. Double vision, which we also refer to as diplopia, generally results from either a misalignment of your eyes or a structural problem with the part or parts of the eye that let light into it, noted There are two types of double vision. The first type is called binocular diplopia. The second type is referred to as monocular diplopia. Monocular diplopia can be differentiated from binocular diplopia by a simple test. If the double vision stops when you cover one eye, then you are suffering from binocular diplopia. If the double vision persists even with one eye covered, that means you are experiencing monocular diplopia.
There are many different causes for diplopia. The problem can arise from the eyes themselves, the surrounding orbit, or the central nervous system. Causes of double vision include corneal infections or scars, cataract, eye muscle weakness from thyroid problems, nerve damage from diabetes or multiple sclerosis, autoimmune disease such as myasthenia gravis, brain tumors or aneurysms, strokes, head trauma, orbital trauma, direct eye trauma and even migraine headaches.
Double vision can occur by itself with no other symptoms. However, depending on the cause other symptoms may be present with diplopia that can include:
- Droopy Eyelids
- Pain with Eye Movements
- Headache
- Nausea
- Misalignment of one or both eyes causing a "wandering eye" or "cross-eyed" appearance
- Weakness of the other muscles in your body
If you or someone you know experiences double vision, it is important to schedule an appointment for an examination. Please feel free to call DAmbrosio Eye Care at 800-325-3937 to schedule an appointment. You may also request an appointment at facebook.com/dambrosioeyecare.

Boston Corneal Specialist on LASIK Dry Eyes
Boston Corneal Specialist on LASIK Dry Eyes
As a corneal specialist who is a LASIK surgeon I have many ways of helping patients both avoid and manage LASIK related dry eyes, shared JoAnn Chang, M.D. a Boston Corneal Specialist at DAmbrosio Eye Care with eye care and LASIK offices in Athol, Lancaster, Acton and Gardner, MA. By far the most common side effect of LASIK is dry eyes. In fact, it is pretty much expected and pretty normal for all LASIK patients to have temporary dry eye symptoms after their treatment. The critical thing to know is that the dry eye symptoms should be temporary.
What I like to emphasize with my LASIK patients is that they need to remember that LASIK is corneal surgery. Any time we do corneal surgery we typically sever some corneal nerves and also temporarily disturb the delicate cells on the surface of the eye. This happens during cataract surgery and any other eye surgery procedures that involve the cornea, Dr. Chang explained. She further explained, These corneal nerves are connected to the Lacrimal Gland which is responsible for producing tears-so when the nerves are temporarily interrupted there is a decrease in the amount of tears that are produced making your eyes feel dry and gritty.
To make you more comfortable during the time it takes for the corneal nerves to heal and regenerate we may do one of more of the following for you:
· Prescribe Artificial Tear Eye Drops
· Insert Tiny Tear Duct Plugs
· Prescribe Restasis® Eye Drops
· Prescribe Dietary Supplements with Omega-3 Oils
Each of the above acts to either retain the tears that you have, supplement the tears that are lacking or help you produce more of your own tears so that you will be most comfortable and heal properly. Each person will regenerate the fine corneal nerves at a DIFFERENT RATE and thus will need to use one or more of the above tear helpers for different amounts of time. A very important consideration is how healthy your tear film was BEFORE your surgery. A critical part of your LASIK consultation will be a careful examination of your tear film. Sometimes, in order to make you the most comfortable and make the healing and visual recovery process as quick and easy as possible for you, we may actually prescribe one or more of the above BEFORE your surgery.

Massachusetts Surgeon on Cataract Macular Degeneration Risk
Massachusetts Surgeon on Cataract Macular Degeneration Risk
Massachusetts Cataract Surgeon Francis DAmbrosio, Jr., M.D. explained that cataracts and age related macular degeneration (AMD) share at least one common risk factor-AGE. Cataract formation and macular degeneration both increase in frequency and incidence with age and thus it is pretty common to have one, the other or both as we head through our 50s, 60s and 70s. The question that many patients get confronted with is whether to have cataract surgery if they have macular degeneration. And, if they do, will it make the AMD get worse and faster.
The general consensus among cataract surgeons is that with proper preoperative diagnostic testing, examination and consultation patients who have age related macular degeneration (ARMD) and who develop a cataract are able to have cataract surgery after being counseled on what to expect with regard to overall vision improvements and lifestyle benefits. While ARMD is not a reason to avoid cataract surgery, realistic expectations must be established by and between you and your cataract surgeon. Further, the most current and widely accepted studies on AMD progression after cataract surgery found that there was no difference in the frequency of the disease among patients who had cataract surgery as compared to those who did not.
If you or someone you know has cataracts and age related macular degeneration and have questions about cataract surgery and lens implants, contact DAmbrosio Eye Care by calling us at 800-325-3937, visiting DAmbrosio Eye Care or facebook.com/dambrosioeyecare so that we can help recommend an appropriate treatment plan.

Poopin on the Potty is a Big Deal in our House
Poopin on the Potty is a Big Deal in our House
Wait, what?
Oh yes. This guy:
This guy, pooped on the potty.
Over the past couple months, weve been trying to get Tyler used to the potty. Were not super consistent, but generally weve been getting him to sit on the potty at least once a day. Mostly just for familiarity purposes. We havent really expected him to actually go largely because when we sit him on the potty its typically during the process of changing an already soiled diaper.
Anyhow, this morning when changing him and getting him dressed, he told me he wanted to go sit on the potty. I was already running late and wasnt really in the mood for the potty this morning, but Im pretty sure theres a line in the parent handbook, in the potty training section, that says something like "Never deny your childs request to sit on the potty."
So off to the bathroom we go and I sit him on the potty and he proceeds to play with the potty seat and his boy parts and just generally having a good ol time sittin there grinning at me. Im getting impatient and keep asking him every 7 seconds if hes done. He keeps saying no. So I told him I needed to go finish getting ready for work and he could stay on the potty as long as he likes.
I go back to my bathroom and Im not in there 30 seconds before he hollers in his sing song voice, "I DOO-OOONE!" (When did he grow up???) So, with a big eye roll, I walk back to his bathroom and he says, "I poop." Whaaaaat?
I pick his little butt up off the toilet and sure enough, there is a gift staring back at me! (Youre welcome for not posting a picture of it.)
However, Im immediately skeptical cause its not usual for his sissy to forget to flush the toilet after shes done using it. I checked his butt for evidence, found some and commenced with the celebrating, high fiving, and fist bumping.
Then we had to call Daddy and tell him. And in all the excitement about pooping, I forgot to have the kids tell their Daddy happy birthday. My bad. But it was poop! In the proper location! Can you blame me for being distracted?
We did try to make it up to Daddy by having some cookies and creme pie for dessert tonight (Lily picked it out). We put 3 blue candles (dont ask me why 3...Lily said that was the right amount) and all sang Happy Birthday, which is to say, I sang it and Lily chimed in at the very end. Tyler just kept sticking his fingers in the pie, too anxious to wait until singing was over to eat some.

Happy Birthday Babe! So cool that you can share your birthday with such a monumental milestone in your sons life. Ha!

Massachusetts Optician on Sunglasses Choosing the Right Ones
Massachusetts Optician on Sunglasses Choosing the Right Ones
Choosing the right sunglasses means understanding that they are more than just a fashion accessory, commented Massachusetts Optician Jocelyn Mylott, R.D.O. of DAmbrosio Eye Care with offices in Athol, Lancaster, Acton & Gardner, Massachusetts. Sunglasses are an important form of protection for your eyes against the damaging rays of the sun.
Its important for you to know what types of light you need to protect your eyes from and what types of light are not necessarily harmful. Here are some tips for picking the right pair of nonprescription sunglasses.
- Choose Sunglasses that Block 99% of Ultraviolet (UV) Rays. This is the most important feature of your sunglasses, and you should always choose sunglasses that provide this protection. Long-term exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation in sunlight is linked to eye disease, including cataracts. Some manufacturers labels say UV absorption up to 400nm. This is the same thing as 100 percent UV absorption. Some glasses make additional claims for blocking infrared rays, but research has not shown a close connection between infrared rays and eye disease.
- Dont Rely on the Price. Many types of affordable sunglasses offer 99 to 100% UV protection, so you dont necessarily need to spend a lot of money on a pair of sunglasses.
- Do Rely on the Quality. In addition to UV protection, you also want to check the optical quality of the lenses. You can easily test the quality of sunglasses by looking at something with a rectangular pattern, such as a floor tile. Hold the glasses at a comfortable distance and cover one eye. Move the glasses slowly from side to side, then up and down. If the lines stay straight, the lenses are fine. If the lines wiggle, especially in the center of the lens, try another pair.
- Look for Impact-Resistant Lenses. All sunglasses must meet impact standards set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for safety. No lens is truly unbreakable, but plastic lenses are less likely to shatter when hit by a ball or stone. Polycarbonate plastics, used in many sports sunglasses, are especially strong, but scratch easily. If you buy polycarbonate lenses, choose ones with a scratch-resistant coating.
- Use Protective Eyewear NOT Sunglasses for Hazardous Activities. If you are going to be engaged in outdoor activities like water or snow skiing that put your eye at risk for injury, dont count on your eyeglasses for protection. Protective eyewear is available with UV protection to shield your eyes from sunburn and glare.
- Lens Color Tinting & Polarization are Personal Preferences. Theres no medical reason to recommend one tint of lens over another. Likewise, while polarized lenses work better at deflecting glare, theyre not blocking any more harmful UV light than non-polarized lenses.
If you or someone you know has a question or would like to learn more about choosing the right sunglasses please feel free to contact DAmbrosio Eye Care by calling us at 800-325-3937, visiting DAmbrosio Eye Care or facebook.com/dambrosioeyecare so that we can help recommend an appropriate treatment plan.

Are we leaving for Canada on Tuesday no Wednesday no Thursday no Friday maybe! !
Well, we had originally hoped to drive up to Canada Tuesday (the 15th) but found out that the earliest the Cleveland Clinic Pain Center could reschedule my pump refill was Tuesday morning. Then, I thought I should stay to teach my class last evening and we would go today. But if were waiting until Thursday, we might as well wait until tomorrow (Friday) when Brent can drive up with us and help me get settled. Sue sent me a photo of my room - it was absolutely full of boxes so Im hoping its a joke but just in case it isnt, Brent will be a big help!
This week, Ive started naming the different behaviors - sit, down, stand and touch. Ive never started deliberately training a puppy so young and this is so much fun! You can literally see Hardy figure out what Im asking and he enjoys his training meals as much as I do!
