Tennis
Tennis
As well as his swimming lessons and football club, I have tried to get Matthew interested in tennis this year. I bought him a proper tennis racket a few months ago, but the first time he tried to play he got very frustrated as he couldnt return the ball. Even so, he seemed to enjoy playing and we had a couple of enjoyable games of just passing back and forth in the back garden. After losing several tennis balls over the wall to the neighbours garden, I took Matthew to a proper tennis court at the local park, but this didnt go terribly well as he found it difficult to get the ball over the net.
This morning I took Matthew back to the court for another try. He did seem to find it easier to hit the ball to me, and was less frustrated, but we couldnt have a long game because I also had to keep an eye on Daniel. After a while, a boy from Matthews class called Oliver turned up at the court with his parents, so Matthew went over to play and they let him join in. He seemed to have fun playing and told me that Oliver (who is only 4) couldnt hit the ball very high.
