Week 7

Week 7

Week 7:
  • Baby is the size of a blueberry.
  • Spring Break has begun! Woohoo!
  • Mommy has only thrown up a few times, but she is nauseous quite often. Mostly at night.
  • Lost 2 more pounds! That makes 5 total! I might as well be excited now, because its obviously not going to continue for much longer!
  • Trying to eat as healthy as I can, but lately I cant even say the word...eek or type it... "vegetables". However, I am trying my best!
  • I am not sleeping very well! WHY? It isnt like I am uncomfortable! I wake up around 2 or 3 every morning and just lay there and my body will not fall back asleep!
  • We are starting to get so excited! I already have a huge list of things I have researched and want to buy. Now, to convince daddy!
  • Daddy predicts that you are a girl, but desperately... DESPERATELY wants you to be a boy! He said he had a few dreams about me being pregnant with a girl before we even found out. Like the week and a few days before. He really wants our oldest child to be a boy though. Of course he will love you either way!
  • Mommy predicts that you are a girl. I even ordered a few hair bows.... bahahahah dont make fun of me! I kept waiting at the checkout to get this overwhelming feeling that I shouldnt buy it... but it never came, not even the slightest feeling, and so I bought them!
  • My mom, is SO excited! She has already made 5 or 6 burp rags and who knows what else she has going in that cute mind of hers!
  • I love, love, LOVE riding my bike! We got it a few weeks ago and it is the best exercise! I rode over 50 miles this week. One day I did 15, and the rest were an average of 8-10. But I did it each day this week and it is such a wonderful relaxation for me!
  • Favorite moment of the week: going for a ride with Kason on his motorcycle. I was sick pretty much all week from like 3pm-8pm and so it was such a great way to get some fresh air!

7 Signs of Testicular Cancer and How to Prevent It By Tony Isaacs

7 Signs of Testicular Cancer and How to Prevent It By Tony Isaacs

7 Signs of Testicular Cancer (and How to Prevent It)
By Tony Isaacs

signs-testicular-cancer
In a hurry? Click here to read the Article Summary...
Testicular cancer is a highly curable cancer that develops in the testicles. Located inside the scrotum, the testicles are a loose bag of skin underneath the penis and are part of the male reproductive system. Typically, this cancer develops in one or both testicles (the testes) in young men, but it can occur in older men as well and in rare instance, in younger boys. The odds for getting testicular cancer are estimated to be about 1 in 200, with about 80,000 cases being diagnosed each year in the United States alone. Although testicular cancer is considered to be rare, it is the most common cancer in American males between the ages of 15 and 35.
Knowing the signs of testicular cancer will help with early detection of the disease. The good news is that testicular cancer is notable for having among the highest cure rates among all cancers. It has an average five year survival rate as high as 99%, depending on how early the cancer is detected.
The even better news (especially for those who do not want to subject themselves to the dangers of chemotherapy or radiation) is that testicular cancer is also highly curable through natural alternative means. There are also several measures that can be taken to help avoid testicular cancer from developing in the first place.
The Two Kinds of Testicular Cancer
There are two main types of testicular cancer: seminomas and nonseminomas. These cancers grow from the germ cells that make sperm.
Seminoma
Seminoma is a slow-growing form of testicular cancer which is most often found in men in their 30s and 40s. The cancer is usually limited to just in the testes, but it can spread to the lymph nodes.
Nonseminoma
This more common type of testicular cancer tends to grow more quickly than seminomas. Nonseminoma tumors are often made up of more than one type of cell, and are identified according to these different cell types:
  • Choriocarcinoma (rare)
  • Embryonal carcinoma
  • Teratoma
  • Yolk sac tumor
A stromal tumor is a rare type of testicular tumor. They are usually not cancerous. The two main types of stromal tumors are Leydig cell tumors and Sertoli cell tumors. Stromal tumors usually occur during childhood.
7 Signs of Testicular Cancer
Common signs of testicular cancer include:
  • A swelling and/or lump in one or both of the testes. There may or may not be pain in the testes or scrotum
  • A heavy feeling in the scrotum
  • A dull pain or feeling of pressure in the lower belly or groin
Sometimes these symptoms can be caused by other problems, such as a hydrocele or epididymitis.
Testicular cancer that has spread (metastasized) beyond the testicles and regional lymph nodes to other organs may cause other symptoms depending on the area of the body affected. Symptoms of late-stage testicular cancer may include:
  • Dull pain in the lower back and belly
  • Lack of energy, sweating for no clear reason, fever, or a general feeling of illness
  • Shortness of breath, coughing, or chest pain
  • Headache or confusion
Note that not all lumps on the testicles are tumors, and not all tumors are malignant (cancerous). There are many other conditions, such as testicular microlithiasis, epididymal cysts, and appendix testis (hydatid of Morgagni), which may be painful but are non-cancerous.
signs-of-testicular-cancer
Testing for Testicular Cancer
A physical examination will typically reveal a firm lump (mass) in one of the testicles. When the health care provider holds a flashlight up to the scrotum, the light does not pass through the lump.
Other tests for testicular cancer include:
  • Abdominal and pelvic CT scan
  • Blood tests for tumor markers: alpha fetoprotein (AFP), human chorionic gonadotrophin (beta HCG), and lactic dehydrogenase (LDH)
  • Chest x-ray
  • Ultrasound of the scrotum
Causes of Testicular Cancer
The exact cause of testicular cancer is unknown. Anything that increases your chance of getting testicular cancer is a risk factor. Some of the top risk factors for testicular cancer include:
  1. Exposure to certain chemical toxins – Toxins are the top root cause of cancer
  2. Age – Most cases occur between the ages of 15 and 40, and testicular cancer is the type of cancer found most often in men ages 20 to 34
  3. Race – Caucasian men are 5 to 10 times more likely to develop testicular cancer than men of other races
  4. Family or personal history of testicular cancer – especially having an identical twin with testicular cancer
  5. Undescended testicle (cryptorchidism) in infants and young boys – Men with testicles that did not move down into the scrotum before birth are at increased risk. Men who had surgery to correct this condition are still at high risk of testicular cancer
  6. Abnormal testicular development
  7. Klinefelter’s syndrome – A sex chromosome disorder characterized by low levels of male hormones, sterility, breast enlargement, and small testes
  8. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or AIDS
  9. Previous treatment for testicular cancer
  10. Viral infections of the testicles, such as occurs with mumps
  11. Injury to the scrotum
  12. Activity which may regularly put pressure on or irritate the scrotum (think cyclist Lance Armstrong)
It’s important to note that there is no known link between vasectomy and testicular cancer.
Testicular Cancer Prevention
Like all cancers, there are several steps one can take to help prevent testicular cancer. Such steps include:
  • Addressing and eliminating the toxins, which are the root cause of most cancers, from your body and environment
  • Building up your vital immune system ? the body’s natural first line of defense against cancer and other illness
  • Eating a very healthy, cancer-fighting, and immune boosting diet and avoiding unhealthy foods.
  • Including a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise or physical activity, stress management, and plenty of regular direct and indirect sunshine
  • Making sure that you get daily optimum nutrition through both diet and, as needed, supplementation. Note: Contrary to mainstream medical advice, optimum daily nutrition cannot be obtained from diet alone. As a matter of fact, it is almost impossible to even get minimal RDA amounts of the handful of vitamins and major minerals on the RDA list on a daily basis in a 2,000 to 2,500 calorie per day diet
  • Paying special attention to cleansing, restoring, and protecting your vital liver ? the body’s natural toxin removal organ. The great cancer pioneer Max Gerson observed that he never found a single cancer patient who did not also have an impaired liver
  • Generally making your body as inhospitable to cancer as possible
Conventional Testicular Cancer Treatment
Mainstream medical treatment of testicular cancer depends on the type of testicular tumor and the stage of the tumor. Unlike other cancers, where sample cells are removed through a technique known as biopsy, doctors use a unique procedure when testicular cancer is suspected. The entire testicle is pulled up out of the scrotum through an incision in the groin and is examined under a microscope. The doctor can then determine if cancer is present, as well as the type of cancer cell ? seminoma or nonseminoma.
After the presence and type of testicular cancer is determined, the next step is to determine how far the cancer has spread. This is called staging.
Stage I cancer has not spread beyond the testicle.
Stage II cancer has spread to lymph nodes in the abdomen.
Stage III cancer has spread beyond the lymph nodes (it could be as far as the liver, lungs, or brain).
Three types of conventional testicular cancer treatment are generally used.
Surgical treatment removes the testicle (orchiectomy), usually as soon as the presence of cancer is determined. Nearby lymph nodes may also be removed via a process known as lymphadenectomy.
Radiation therapy using high-dose x-rays or other high-energy rays may be used after surgery to prevent the tumor from returning. Radiation therapy is usually only used for treating the less common form of testicular cancer, seminomas. Seminomas are very sensitive to radiation therapy.
Chemotherapy uses drugs to kill cancer cells. This treatment has greatly improved survival for patients with both seminomas and nonseminomas. However, like radiation, chemotherapy has side effects which are not only unpleasant but which may lead to further problems, including second cancers, down the road.
Notably, both radiation and many chemotherapy drugs are themselves considered to be carcinogens ? meaning that they can actually cause cancer.
Alternative Treatment for Testicular Cancer
Natural treatment for testicular cancer or any other type of cancer should incorporate all of the things one would usually do for cancer prevention and much more. It requires a comprehensive natural anti-cancer protocol which leaves no stone unturned. After all, even though testicular cancer is highly curable, it can nevertheless be fatal. When your very life is at stake you don’t want to go into the fight with only one or two bullets in your gun.
Take cancer fighting and immune boosting supplements such as oleander extract, turmeric, a potent medicinal mushroom supplement, inositol/IP6, colloidal silver, and more.

FXB Week 7 Im late

FXB Week 7 Im late

I finished up week 7 of FXB on Saturday...after having spent another work week traveling.  Two weeks in a row of impressing myself with my workouts while away and two weeks in a row of going completely overboard on my eating.  I just cannot be trusted around M&Ms, Trail Mix and deep fried appetizers.  Im scared to step on the scale.  So Im not - at least not right now.  Must.  Buckle.  Down.

The only thing I think I can recall last week that was new was Iso-sets on the bands.  Basically you stretch the band at three increasingly difficult levels - at first with a teeny break in between each transition and then you just progress through them.  My shoulders hurt for two days after that.  I missed the Gauntlet on kickboxing Fun Friday.  Dont ask me what that is, cause I dont know.  But Im sad that I missed it, just the same.

I was in Phoenix for my work trip which is on Mountain Time.  I didnt really get over the "jet lag" and I slept very little while there (~2 hours per night).  Each morning, I finally gave up attempting to sleep by 4am and went ahead with my workout.  After that, it was only 5am and I didnt have anywhere to be until 7.

But I was in Phoenix, where it was 47 degrees at 5am and there was an outdoor hot tub.  So I begged the night clerk to let me in the pool area (wasnt supposed to open until 7am).  I had to promise him I would not get rowdy.

It. Was. Nice. I seriously need me one of these at the house.

I also managed to take a run one afternoon - you know, so I could work off about 15 of the 150 M&Ms that I ate.  It was about 70 degrees and no humidity.  If the weather was always like that, I think its entirely possible I could be become a marathon runner.  Heres another selfie where you can see the mountains in the distance.  This is what I was taking in as I was running.  Beautiful.

Ive started week 8 back on track.  But guess what?  Yep, I have to travel again.  Sigh.  Third times a charm for getting my nutrition in line.  Right?

Alyacen 7 7 7

Alyacen 7 7 7

What Is Alyacen 7/7/7?

Ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone is a combination drug that contains female hormones that prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary). This medication also causes changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus.
Ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone is used as contraception to prevent pregnancy.
Ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Do not use birth control pills if you are pregnant or if you have recently had a baby.
You should not take birth control pills if you have any of the following conditions: uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, a blood-clotting disorder, circulation problems, diabetic problems with your eyes or kidneys, unusual vaginal bleeding, liver disease or liver cancer, severe migraine headaches, or if you have ever had breast or uterine cancer, jaundice caused by birth control pills, a heart attack, a stroke, or a blood clot.
Smoking can increase your risk of blood clot, stroke, or heart attack while taking birth control pills. You should not take ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone if you smoke and are older than 35 years of age.
Smoking can increase your risk of blood clots, stroke, or heart attack while taking birth control pills, especially if you are older than 35 years of age. Your risk increases the more you smoke. You should not take combination birth control pills such as ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone if you smoke and are older than 35 years of age.
This medication can cause birth defects. Do not use if you are pregnant. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant, or if you miss two menstrual periods in a row. If you have recently had a baby, wait at least 4 weeks before taking birth control pills.
You should not take birth control pills if you have:
  • untreated or uncontrolled high blood pressure;
  • heart disease (coronary artery disease, uncontrolled heart valve disorder, history of heart attack, stroke, or blood clot);
  • a blood-clotting disorder or circulation problems;
  • problems with your eyes, kidneys or circulation caused by diabetes;
  • a history of hormone-related cancer such as breast or uterine cancer;
  • unusual vaginal bleeding that has not been checked by a doctor;
  • liver disease or liver cancer;
  • severe migraine headaches (with aura, numbness, weakness, or vision changes), especially if you are older than 35;
  • a history of jaundice caused by pregnancy or birth control pills; or
  • if you smoke and are over 35 years old.
To make sure birth control pills are safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:
  • high blood pressure, varicose veins;
  • high cholesterol or triglycerides, or if you are overweight;
  • a history of depression;
  • underactive thyroid;
  • gallbladder disease;
  • diabetes;
  • seizures or epilepsy;
  • a history of irregular menstrual cycles;
  • tuberculosis; or
  • a history of fibrocystic breast disease, lumps, nodules, or an abnormal mammogram.
The hormones in birth control pills can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. This medication may also slow breast milk production. Do not use if you are breast feeding a baby.

Alyacen 7/7/7 Side Effects

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using birth control pills and call your doctor at once if you have:
  • sudden numbness or weakness (especially on one side of the body), sudden severe headache, slurred speech, problems with vision or balance;
  • sudden cough, wheezing, rapid breathing, coughing up blood;
  • pain, swelling, warmth, or redness in one or both legs;
  • chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the jaw or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling;
  • a change in the pattern or severity of migraine headaches;
  • nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tired feeling, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
  • swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet;
  • a breast lump; or
  • symptoms of depression (sleep problems, weakness, tired feeling, mood changes).
Common side effects may include:
  • mild nausea (especially when you first start taking this medicine), vomiting, bloating, stomach cramps;
  • breast tenderness or swelling, nipple discharge;
  • freckles or darkening of facial skin, increased hair growth, loss of scalp hair;
  • changes in weight or appetite;
  • problems with contact lenses;
  • vaginal itching or discharge; or
  • changes in your menstrual periods, decreased sex drive.
This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Alyacen 7/7/7 Interactions

Do not smoke while taking birth control pills, especially if you are older than 35 years of age.
This medication will not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases--including HIV and AIDS. Using a condom is the only way to protect yourself from these diseases.
Some drugs can make birth control pills less effective, which may result in pregnancy. Other drugs may interact with ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell each of your health care providers about all medicines you use now and any medicine you start or stop using.

Alyacen 7/7/7 Dosage

Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
You will take your first pill on the first day of your period or on the first Sunday after your period begins. You may need to use back-up birth control, such as condoms or a spermicide, when you first start using this medication. Follow your doctors instructions.
Take one pill every day, no more than 24 hours apart. When the pills run out, start a new pack the following day. You may get pregnant if you do not take one pill daily. Get your prescription refilled before you run out of pills completely.
The 28 day birth control pack contains seven "reminder" pills to keep you on your regular cycle. Your period will usually begin while you are using these reminder pills.
You may have breakthrough bleeding, especially during the first 3 months. Tell your doctor if this bleeding continues or is very heavy.
Use a back-up birth control if you are sick with severe vomiting or diarrhea.
If you need surgery or medical tests or if you will be on bed rest, you may need to stop using this medication for a short time. Any doctor or surgeon who treats you should know that you are using birth control pills.
While taking birth control pills, you will need to visit your doctor regularly.

Happy 7 Months Hudson Trent!

Happy 7 Months Hudson Trent!

Once again another month has passed and my baby boy is another month older... hard to believe, the time is flying by!!! Happy 7 months to my little Hudson Trent!!!!! He is an absolute joy and blessing!! I am not sure on his weight and height for this month, but he is a big boy! He is wearing sz 3 diapers and anywhere from 6-12 months in clothes. He is still nursing and sleeping with his momma! He loves to eat, loves all baby food and has recently started eating and loves puffs and Mum-Mums. He has started using a sippy cup to drink a little bit of water (sometimes a little juice mixed in ) and he is getting the hang of it. At 7 months he is CRAWLING and all over the place!!!!!!!!! His little knees stay so red from where he just crawls everywhere!! He has even already started pulling up on things and he kicks his feet out when crawling and tries to stand! He babbles and "Talks" alot. He has said Mama ( few times) and Dada and he says baba alot.
I love this precious boy and cant believe he is already 7 months old!
