Confession Time

Confession Time

Yall know my love for the Plum Paper Planner. Specifically the My Everything (formerly called Family Planner) Ive written this popular review about it.  Oh, and this one too. Im all about that sticker and stamping life. Ive been sucked into the vortex of all things planner and Ive been kind of shy about it because its not for everyone. Most people that see me do it or talk about it kind get that glazed over look in their eye which I TOTALLY GET.

Cause Im that way when someone talks about baseball. Snooooze.

The thing I love most about the whole decorating-your-planner thing is that its a creative outlet that I can do regularly that keeps. Yes, I love makeup and makeup can be art. But makeup doesnt keep. Which is the best and worst thing about it. At the end of the day you wash it off and you start all over again.

The planner thing not only helps to keep me focused on life instead of fumbling my way through it, but its a tangible project that will stay with me. Its a journal of sorts that I can look back on. Ive come to really appreciate that. Its like scrap-booking but way less intense.

Ive recently started using more stamps which is more cost effective than stickers and there is some REALLY cute stuff out there. Too much cute stuff. I have a long wishlist and a husband that is not happy Ive found another hobby. ;)

Anyways, the confession is that not only am I a member of a ton of groups on planning, hope to attend a meet-up with some other planner girls, but Ive started an Instagram (@containthecrazy) and even have made a few plan with me videos!

I am stinking obsessed with watching plan with me videos. Its the same satisfaction as watching a makeup tutorial. Its so interesting to me to watch other people create! I really dont even care what it is. I just like it. So, without further ado, here are two plan with me videos that Ive made. Im NOT good at editing yet. My computer is so slow that I often dont see un-clean edits until its already published. To fix it Id have to delete the upload, go back to editing, try to fix it and then process and upload it again. And by that time my give-a-darn is busted. #sorrynotsorry.

Im hoping to get a better, faster, stronger computer (that Daft Punk tho) to do some real editing later this year, especially because Im going to help Bry get some new content up for BVB.

UNTIL THEN, this is what I got and everyone has to start somewhere. The first video is long because I wasnt properly prepared and the whole recording thing freaked me out. The second video I had a better groove (but also my camera died without me knowing it so there is a stamping chunk cut out.) I also sped the second one up more. There are no edits in the second video until the very end.

Anyways, I know that this is not for everyone, but if you want to watch a girl play with some stickers and stamps (#lisafrankforever) and try to get a handle on life, press play and subscribe! :)

Hardys first time in vest out in public

Hardys first time in vest out in public

Over the past couple days, Ive come to realize that Im having a flair of the rheumatoid arthritis in my chest wall. Besides being tiring and painful - its hard to breath; Laurel gets worried because she knows that Im having a problem but when she alerts and I take my medications, the pain caused by the rheumatoid stays instead of going away. So she alerts more and really doesnt like to be away from me. Unfortunately, here in Canada, there are more times when we have to be apart than when we are at home - sometimes just because Im in another part of the house and she needs to stay in our bedroom or because Im taking a class or doing something with Hardy.
Although I have worked very hard to keep Laurel from suffering separation anxiety, I hadnt considered that we would need to work on her being okay when she knew I was having medical problems and she had to be away from me. We are trying to use her love of pigs ears as a way to distract her during these situations and it seems to be working, at least for short separations! Hardy knows that something is up with Laurel because she isnt as interested in playing and he seems to be trying to figure out what is going on.
We took Hardy out to a restaurant for his first public access experience (dressed) during the K9Helpers club meeting on Wednesday. Another club members dog was with us as well. Hardy sat with me for a couple minutes and then Sue put him on the floor in a down stay. He put his head down and did a beautiful job. A short while later, he was sleeping. It was a terrific success!

Yesterday, Sue and I decided to go to the Six Nations reservation to get some moose hide for moccasins. We decided to not take our service dogs because the reservation is sovereign land and not covered by the service dog laws of Ontario. We didnt want to offend anyone and felt it might be considered disrespectful. We also didnt want to run into an access problem. It was the longest time I had left Laurel while she was struggling with knowing that I was having medical problems. John was home with the dogs and said that from time to time Laurel would let out a tragic mournful howl. I heard it just as we were coming into the house and it broke my heart. Wed had a lovely drive and a pleasant afternoon but that kind of ruined it all. It also enforced my determination to help Laurel be okay if she has to be away from me and I am having the medical problems she alerts to. Also, Ill do whatever I can to avoid this with Hardy and hopefully being more aware will help.
We also have a mystery on our hands right now. The other day, I left Hardy out in our little side yard while I took a shower. Sue knocked on the door and asked me if I had put Hardy in the back yard with Yarrow (a white Standard Poodle owned by K9 Helpers). Of course, I hadnt and we have no idea how Hardy got from his side yard to the back yard. Obviously, he went over or under the fence separating the yards but the back yard is about 7 - 8 feet lower than the side one. He must have either slid down a wall or fallen but he seems to have survived it without any damage and fortunately, he and Yarrow were getting along just fine.

LASIK Flex Plans in Massachusetts Now is the Time!

LASIK Flex Plans in Massachusetts Now is the Time!

Cindy Ogilvie, Practice Administrator of D’Ambrosio Eye Care with offices in Athol, Lancaster, Acton & Gardner, Massachusetts commented, “Now is the time for patients who want LASIK to use any Flex Plan funds that might be available to them. January is a popular month for New Year’s resolutions which often includes self improvements like LASIK. If you or a family member has Flex Plan funds to use, this is a good way to make LASIK affordable.”

Many employers offer Flex Plans-Flexible Spending Accounts or FSA’s. These plans allow you to have money taken out of your paycheck over time to pay for LASIK. What is even more appealing about Flex Plans is that money is withheld in Pre-Tax dollars allowing you to get extra tax savings.

If you or someone you know is interested in LASIK they are encouraged to schedule
Free Consultation at D’Ambrosio Eye Care by calling us at 800-325-3937, visiting D’Ambrosio Eye Care or facebook.com/dambrosioeyecare so that we can help determine whether you are a good candidate.

Its Time for Change

Its Time for Change

Im not sure if youve noticed my absence last week, but Ive been in a writing slump. Ive been thinking a lot about the future of my blog and the direction I want to go in, plus what kind of schedule I want to keep.

I am not ready to stop writing - I dont think I ever will be, but I need this blog to become a better reflection of who I am. Right now, Im noticing things about myself, my relationships and my life that Ive havent seen before. I guess growing up does that to you.

Ive written two of my favorite posts (here and here) while in this phase but it wasnt without a lot of hours experiencing a weird sort of writers block. My blog has always been a way for me to process my thoughts and that hasnt changed - its just increasingly hard to put what is happening in my soul into words.

So basically, it rolls down to this:

- Im going to release myself from having any type of posting schedule. Im not going to shoot for the Monday/Wednesday/Friday time frame. Im going to write authentically and at will.

- Im going to re-design the blog. Ive had this same layout for a long time. Im bored with it and I want something fresh. There may be days when the blog is down, although I hope to limit that.

- Im going to go back to the drawing board on what I share here and how I share it. I feel like things are a bit all over the place, and I need to decide if thats how I want it to be or if I want to maybe simplify the content.

- I have some ideas for the Embrace the Crazy Facebook page, so Im going to try to be more active there. Make sure you go like my page so you stay in the loop! Ill also post updates about where I am with this transition.

If youve been a long time reader, thank you. If you are new, welcome. Im in a big transition phase with my family growing and big changes in my career coming up. Ive been grappling with this creative block for weeks now and I realized just today that my blog needs to go through the same re-structuring as my life and my heart. Its fitting.

Thank you for sticking with me!

I knew it was inevitable but I still feel awful I ran over Hardy for the first time!

I knew it was inevitable but I still feel awful I ran over Hardy for the first time!

Hardy and I had another manners class today. We worked on stays, stands, coming into heel position, recalls, waiting at doors before coming through, coming into a nice front and some loose leash walking. Hardy was generally a good boy although we are are having trouble with him sitting straight next to or in front of me (and he still has that sprawled puppy sit) and with his stays if I try to go around behind him. I realized  that I havent done that before since we have worked on stays with a tether (and I couldnt go around behind him). Hardy also chased something white that was being blown across the ring and was very distracted by the feather toy on the stick Mary was twirling around. The worst thing about class though, was that while we were making a turn, I ran over Hardys front foot. Its the first time its ever happened and although I knew it was inevitable, I was really hoping to avoid it and felt terrible about doing it! Hardy was less than amused and it took a couple minutes to reconnect and have him willing to work near the chair again. The good news is that it doesnt seem to have hurt him physically and Im sure we can rebuild his confidence - he is a resilient little guy! And well use chairs, walls and fences to work on him being straight next to me. Im not sure how to handle the sloppy puppy sit - Ive never had a puppy who sat like that before! Something else to learn!

A Pirate For The Second Time Around

A Pirate For The Second Time Around

My family and I went to the mall to buy Halloween treats and a ninja costume for Yohan. Superhero and scary costumes were abundant but sadly they run out of ninja costumes. I couldnt believe it! I offered to buy him another costume instead but he didnt like any of the available ones. He told me he would rather wear one of his old costumes.

Yohan was unusually quiet. I thought he was upset about the costume but I found out later that he wasnt feeling well. We were at the grocery buying treats when he showed signs of nauseousness so we decided to go home early.

Hubby and I decided to let Yohan skip the annual village Halloween activity at the clubhouse so he could rest. Surprisingly, he felt re-energized after a short rest at home.

Treats for Trick or Treat

At last years Trick or Treat, he was Thomas the Tank Engine. This year he donned his black shirt with a skull, striped pants and hook ... a pirate for the second time around.

Captain Yohan

Yohan was able to make a few rounds in the village but the rain came at an unwelcome time. We had to cut Trick or Treat short because of the weather. Thankfully Captain Yohan wasnt too disappointed. He still managed to have fun. The other kids were discouraged to continue due to persistent rain. I have lots of Halloween treats left. Care for some? :)

(edited: 11/06/2009)
In the spirit of Halloween, I helped Yohan make Halloween cards for his teachers and pumpkin cut-outs for his classmates.

Yohan thought of the concept. I just helped him make cut-out figures.

Laurel went to agility for the first time in 5 months and Hardy stayed home alone

Laurel went to agility for the first time in 5 months and Hardy stayed home alone

Laurel and I went to agility class today for the first time in about 5 months! It was great to see Susan and all our other friends (dogs and people alike)! Laurel had such a terrific time and did very well! We did some exercises and then a short course of jumps and tunnels. Once again, after this layoff, I have to believe in latent learning. Laurel watched the movement of my chair beautifully and paid wonderful attention! She is still not a huge fan of start line stays but cooperated quite nicely when I suggested that it wasnt optional! Other than needing to get Laurel fit again and to be careful to not re-injure her foot, it doesnt look like we have lost much with our extended time off!
Brent was at work so Hardy stayed home alone which I dont think thrilled him. However, when we got home, he was sleeping in his crate and all was peaceful. It does remind me that we need to find time to leave him home alone so that he is capable of doing that without separation anxiety issues.
Then, after dinner, we took Hardy with us on a short trip to Costco. Although we dont take him into the "grocery store" area yet - that just seems unfair until hes older and has better control, he did very well! He did well with the shopping carts and all the people and activity. Its a great day when each Lab gets some time alone with me and is fine with being left behind too!

Poor Hardy its been a boring time for a young man!

Poor Hardy its been a boring time for a young man!

Hardys having mixed feelings about the holidays! Poor guy, since we came back from New York City, its been really boring around here. Most classes were canceled for the Holidays, Hardys dew claw was oozing blood again and I was trying to rest up from our trip and in preparation for our CPE Agility trial over New Years weekend. I used to feel really bad for Laurel when things got boring for her but I came to realize that since downtime is a part of my life, it needs to be part of my service dogs life as well and that if Laurel couldnt handle it, she wasnt the right dog for me. And, sure enough, even with her energy level, she learned quickly to adapt and has become quite the bedbug when she has to be.  I have created and learned games that we can play when Im not able to do much physically and when Im stuck in bed but there are times when even that is too much.
So I dont feel sorry for Hardy - he has to be able to just chill out at times and he has Laurel to bother besides. Our first two days home were pretty boring, Ill admit. Wednesday, the 29th, Laurel and I had an agility lesson and worked on our contacts, start line stays and weaves. I taught my class so Hardy and Brent attended and worked on the long down, attention, Zen and loose leash walking.
Thursday, we had a Christmas celebration with my parents and then we left for the Red Roof Inn in Poland (Youngstown), OH. Friday, Saturday, and yesterday, we were at Four Seasons K9 Athlete Center in Washingtonville for a CPE agility trial. It was Laurels return to agility since her 6 month layoff due to our Canadian summer adventure and her injury. We struggled some on Friday, with 3 NQs and a surprise Q in our fourth class. Saturday was much better with 4/4 Qs and Sunday was a blast even though we only Qd in 2/4. Hardy spent a lot of time in his crate with some visits and a bit of work. He handled it very well although we are paying for it today when he is into absolutely everything! Tomorrow classes start back with obedience and agility for both Labs!

Some more time at Happy Lab Acres Donna Reeces Ridge View Labradors

Some more time at Happy Lab Acres Donna Reeces Ridge View Labradors

Brent drove his Dads Jeep home last Monday. Weve been trying to decide what to do with the vehicle (an 09 with 11,000 miles on it) but since we just realized that both crates fit perfectly in the back, we will probably keep it!
Friday, we took my power chair over to Brunswick (over an hour away to the southwest) for some repairs and my van down to Akron (about an hour away to the southeast) for repairs to the air conditioning lines and to the ramp, which wont come back into the van. We were heading to St Louis Saturday for Dads funeral, to sort stuff and arrange for some of it to come to Cleveland so we took the Labs out to Donna Reeces Friday evening. We had thought about taking Hardy but decided not to because he seems to be going through a bit of a fear period and we thought that might not be the best time for his first airplane flight! Instead, we left both Laurel & Hardy out at Ridge View Labradors. The nice thing is that whenever we pull up at Donnas house, both of them run to the front door excited to be there again!
The flight to St Louis went well on Saturday and we spent the day sorting and looking through boxes. Dad had moved from his house of 65+ years in March - he had over 100 unopened boxes in the basement alone which we thought wed have to ship to us in  to sort. We also found some lovely brand new furniture - Dad had been "living" in the basement with a TV and a broken recliner. I suppose he was waiting to move upstairs until he had completed all the renovating and remodeling. Being there and seeing the loving care with which he did the work, we became quite fond of the house and decided that we should use the furniture since he never had the chance to. It was still a difficult decision because although it was beautiful, much of it isnt to our taste and we have a house full of our own.
Sunday, we did more sorting and finalized things for the funeral home visitation, the funeral and the internment at the national cemetery. Monday was a long day with a "private viewing"; four hours of visitation; a Masonic service; the funeral service, which Brent and I performed (Brent gave a lovely eulogy which honored his Dad but was still truthful); then the procession to Jefferson Barracks, ending in a short but lovely military service. Afterwards, we went out to dinner with some other family members at a local restaurant. That evening, we finished looking through all the boxes except those in the garage.
Tuesday morning, the packer came and it looked like she did a great job. We headed to the airport about two hours before the flight was supposed to take off. Unfortunately, it was delayed and we got in to Cleveland about an hour and a half late. We had to stop home before heading out to pick up Laurel and Hardy.
The Labs had a wonderful time with Donna and their Lab and Mastiff friends. Were still glad that we didnt take Hardy with us although wed like an opportunity to take take him on a flight sometime soon. But, wed like to do that when we can focus on the training with patience. And although they were delighted to come home with us, it was obvious that they had had a blast!
This week, we will be busy preparing our house and basement for all the stuff coming on the moving van. We hadnt planned on the furniture but now we have to swap it with what we already have in our bedroom and office, the family room, living room, and Devin and Kristens bedrooms!
And now, having had to do this for Brents Dad, weve made a commitment to not leave all our stuff for our children to have to sort and decide what might have some value. Hence, while we get our stuff ready to move, we are sorting it into different piles: garage sale, keep, donate and trash.  Poor Laurel and Hardy probably wont appreciate the time we spend doing all that though! Sometimes its just tough work being a Labrador!

We had a great time at Hillside Music Festival!

We had a great time at Hillside Music Festival!

Friday, Sue and John were busy getting ready to perform at Hillside Music Festival over the weekend. Laurel and I ran to the grocery store to get milk because Id hoped to head to the festival for the evening too. We were expecting thunderstorms and I hoped to run in and out ... except the ramp on my van got stuck out when I got out. I spent about 45 minutes trying to figure out what to do. I couldnt find the hand crank for the ramp and whenever I pushed the power button, the ramp moved sideways and hit the sliding door. It looked like it was going to rain any minute and I realized I couldnt close up the van, much less secure it or drive it anywhere. A nice woman with three young children asked if I needed help. She asked a guy who happened to be walking past if he knew anything about wheelchair accessible vans ... surprisingly, he did not! But he agreed to try to help anyway. I searched in the very back and found the hand crank and then looked at the modifications handbook. The two people who had stopped helped me crank and we got the ramp into the van. Once we were successful at that, the ramp became normally functional again. In the midst of everything, I realized that the only two phone numbers I had on my Canadian phone were Sue and Johns and I couldnt reach them. By the time I was heading back to the farm, I figured it wouldnt be a good idea to go to the festival. I called Sue to tell her and she convinced me that I should come. She and John turned around and came back to let me follow them to the island (where the festival is held). We decided to take Hardy too since John could handle him for me.
It was really crowded at the festival and Hardy did a great job walking through all the people. At one point, we had to walk right past a big stack of speakers that were booming. Hardy stopped to think about all the noise for a minute before walking on. Overall, he did a great job although he did get tired of sitting on my lap while Sue and John participated in the opening ceremonies. On the way back out to the van, Hardy got to ride on Johns shoulders ... it was a lot of walking for a little brown puppy.
Yesterday, Laurel and I went back to the festival, leaving Hardy at home. A friend, Kathy promised to come to  feed, let him out, and play with him. She sent me a text message telling me that hed done great which was a relief since Id never left him alone for that long before!

Wow! Time Flies!

Wow! Time Flies!

Apparently time flies whether youre having fun or not! Ive still been struggling with the side effects from the Baclofen which combined with the heat (very unusual in Cleveland but weve already had 3 days with temperatures in the 90s. It looks like its been hot around the country but it should be in the 60s - 70s in May and early June here. As part of my various disabilities, my body doesnt regulate its temperature well (or sometimes, it seems, at all) so I cant be outside when it is too hot and I dont deal with extreme changes in temperatures well. Hence, I have struggled with that recently.
Hardy has been going out with me on errands whenever I go and he is gaining confidence and enthusiasm for the job. His default down is lovely when Im looking at something or were standing in line although it makes doing sit stays somewhat more challenging.
Last week was a really big one for my big brown boy! On Wednesday, June 1st, he spent the day at the Ophthalmologists having the procedure to freeze his errant eye lashes. Again, he doesnt have Entropion, in which the eyelids roll-in. Instead, he has something called Distichiasis - abnormal eye lashes growing out of the oil glands of the eyelids. Often, there are no clinical symptoms but since Hardy has had gunky eyes since he was a puppy we believe his are irritating his eyes. While under a general anesthesia,a procedure called cryoepilation was performed - the abnormal hair follicles were frozen using a liquid nitrogen probe and then the hairs were removed. It appears that the procedure was successful but the vet believes that Hardy reacted to either the gas or anesthesia used because he was throwing ventricular beats every once in a while when he was under. When he was coming out, his heart beat evened out and he recovered uneventfully. Of course, well have to figure out what was going on since he will have to be under anesthesia a couple more times in his life, even if he doesnt have any unexpected medical conditions needing surgery. At some point between 18 months and 2+ years, he will be undergoing a neutering and at the same time we will have the orthopedic X-rays done to ensure that his hips and elbows are good.
Then, on Thursday, June 2, we drove up to Canada for the 4th Dogs in the Park Service Dog Seminar. Although I had some physical difficulties over the weekend, the 3 day seminar was amazing and well worth our trip! There were about 35 people in attendance with many different disabilities and almost as many SDs or SDiTs. Hardy got to practice his public access behavior around other dogs while we attended the various sessions. Both Laurel and Hardy had a difficult time because of my medical problems. At one point, Hardy gave me what was obviously an alert but was something different than Im used to. Thinking it was for muscle spasms, I took some muscle relaxants but when that didnt stop him, I took pain meds for the rheumatoid. He was still persistently trying to tell me something so I tested my blood sugar to find that it was very high (the overdose of baclofen screws up blood sugar levels). Then it took me a couple hours to realize that the wrong dog had alerted to the blood sugar! Hardy has never learned that particular alert but apparently its a natural for him as well as it was for Laurel. He and Laurel also got to get into a police car, see it with its lights on and jump up on the hood to have photos taken! They also had the chance to get into the back of a paramedics rig - Laurel leaped in and stood with her wagging tail looking at everyone while Hardy took the more conservative approach of climbing up using the step and then laying down.
There were photos taken of the various adventures and hopefully someone will send some of them to me. In addition, one of the attendees is a professional photographer and took some "studio-type" photos of Laurel and Hardy that Ill be able to share.
We had an uneventful trip home on Monday and then Sue Alexander & Ann Munsch, President of K9 Helpers (a Canadian non-profit that places psychiatric SDs with people in the Guelph area) arrived on Tuesday to look at Hardys breeders kennel (Ridge View Labradors) for a puppy. Neither Laurel nor Hardy were involved with the testing or selection of the puppy (Hardys half-brother, Widget) but the visit still impacted them because there was another service dog in the house (Dfer) and of course, Widget came to stay with us for a couple days. Both of them got to spend some time with him - Laurel thought we were out of our minds since she had just helped us raise a puppy last summer (Hardy). Hardy enjoyed him (he probably thought it was pretty cool to have another brown boy around who looked so much like him as a young puppy). He even let Widget take his Frisbee away from him!
Everyone left for Canada this morning so quiet once again reigns at our house (as it turns out, Widget is quite the screamer and of course, he was, in part, selected for his persistence!)

Hardy earns his second red bandanna with Brent this time !

Hardy earns his second red bandanna with Brent this time !

Brent and Hardy are taking my Introduction to Levels class but since Brent has meetings two Wednesdays a month for a professional organization for which he is the President-elect, this evening was the first class they could attend. They passed Level 1 first thing and so did another team (congratulations, Barb and Carl!)
We discovered this summer that all the things Laurel knows doesnt translate when Brent is working with her because although he came to all the classes, he didnt do any training with her. Of course, many of the people on the service dog lists discouraged us from letting Laurel have relationships with other people at all. Instead, they thought I should tether her to me and be the only person to interact with her in any way. We do try to learn from our mistakes so Brent will work with Hardy too.
Brent and Hardy worked on loose leash walking with different speeds, sits, downs, stands, and using a toy as motivation. Brent also found that he had to work with Hardy not responding when I was talking to other dogs or asking them to do something. We were doing the Level 1 come game played between two people. Hardy was really sure he should come when I called the other dog.
Prior to the start of my class, I worked with Hardy on sitting straight next to me in heel position and doing sit and down stays while I went all the way around him. Hardys pretty sure that he should always be facing me when he is on a stay and of course, I have to go all the way around him with my chair. With doing all the stays on tether, I never did that before. But hes a smart little guy and when he gets the idea what I want, he figures it out pretty quickly.

Laurel spent her down time thinking and Hardy had a great public access outing!

Laurel spent her down time thinking and Hardy had a great public access outing!

After getting the go-ahead yesterday to start doing some light exercise with Laurel, this morning we went downstairs to our matted area to do some work. Laurel was thrilled to be doing something with me and did some great heeling! We did some recalls and then tried out several different things - drop on recall, directed jumping (over a 4 inch jump), signals at a distance etc. Laurel seems to have been thinking about all those exercises while she was resting since shes never done them better!
Then, we took Hardy to visit my favorite doctor. Laurels always been welcome at his office (and everyone asks when I dont bring her) so I didnt anticipate any problems and there werent any. Hardy was his usual friendly (but not overly so) self and handled himself with a lovely professionalism for someone so young. Unfortunately, I found out that I have some sort of "major infection" - which is why I feel so crappy so after the appointment, we went to the store with Hardy to pick up my prescription. Again, he acted like hed been doing it forever. After that, we went home and havent been doing much since.

Wow! Our time together flew by!

Wow! Our time together flew by!

Devin took an earlier flight than excepted so he got here Thursday afternoon. He met Hardy for the first time and fell in love with his easy-going, calm nature. Kristen, Sean and Soapy arrived that evening so the canine "cousins" had plenty of time to play. Hardy and Soapy behaved beautifully with each other and all three got along without any problems. Laurel did turn into the "fun police" and it was obvious that Soapys "puppy license" with her expired while he was away. Soapy doesnt read older dogs social cues very well but Laurel is pretty persistent so she kept after him. Even with 7 adult humans and 3 dogs in our family room, Laurel, Hardy and Soapy were so well behaved that no one got run out of the room.
Yesterday was a wonderful day! Kristen and Sean took Soapy to see Kate Hornick, a veterinarian and friend who also owns Maynard, Soapys dad. She was very pleased with how he is doing and gave him a clean bill of health. Everyone worked together to create an amazing Thanksgiving dinner. We made our traditional mushroom stuffing and my Mom & Ron brought some wonderful vegetables from their garden. Sean made a delicious pumpkin pie and we got  apple and rhubarb ones from Pattersons Orchard. We were so into it being Thanksgiving that we were surprised that other people werent celebrating the holiday! It was wonderful to have almost our entire family (sadly, Anthony was missing) together!
This morning, Sean, Kristen and Soapy left to drive to Seans family on Long Island. Devin, Brent and I are currently watching the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. We need to start packing though because well be dropping Devin off at the airport at about 4:00 and then heading to a hotel in Elyria, in preparation for competing tomorrow at the C-WAGS trial in Vermilion.
Since Soapy left, Laurel and Hardy have been sleeping - it was a big couple days for them!
