Matthew was delighted to move into his new bedroom tonight.  He has waited for a long time since I started painting it last year, as Louise wanted Daniel to be six months old before sleeping on his own.  So, tonight, Daniel has moved into Matthews old room on his own, which has had the Thomas border removed and a "Snug as a Bug" border restored, and Louise will be moving back into our bedroom after sleeping temporarily with Daniel in the spare room for the last six months.

Matthews new room has a Lightning McQueen theme, and as well as the red walls he has a Lightning McQueen lampshade, stickers on the wall, duvet, wall clock, alarm clock and pillowcase.  He also has a new red bedside lamp and weve put his road-map rug on the floor (he had it for Christmas and has been playing with it on the landing). We installed new flooring last year too, so the only thing which hasnt been changed are the curtains and that is only because the new red curtains we bought arent the right shade of red to match the rest of the room.

As part of the move, Matthew will be sleeping in a full size bed for the first time and his Thomas toddler bed will have to be dismantled to make way for Daniels cot. Weve put a foam bumper in the bed to stop him from rolling out, as hes used to sleeping much closer to the ground.

Ive also given Matthew my old stereo, which may prove to be a mistake if he decides to play loud music at all hours of the day!
