We are Mormons! We live it We know it We LOVE it!
We are Mormons! We live it We know it We LOVE it!
This weekend we were so lucky to be able to go to conference! I have never been and so this was such a fun experience and I was so glad to be able to share it with my best friend! We left on Friday after school and work and we always have so much fun together. We laughed and listened to crazy music on the way up there. We stayed in a Fairfield Marriott just a few miles south of Temple Square. It was pretty nice. We enjoyed watching over 100 channels on the TV, because we dont have cable! :)
Saturday morning we woke up and of course went to, my favorite, continental breakfast! YUM! We then went and crawled back into our cozy king bed and were so lazy all day. We went and got us some lunch and watched movies and then got dressed up and went to dinner. We went to a place called Noodles and Company, it was pretty good. They had the coolest pop machine and we both enjoyed that! After, we wanted to walk around and so we went to Barnes and Nobel. It sounds silly, but my cute husband loves that store. He loves to look at books and magazines and so that is what we did! He is so sweet and let me buy some cute childrens books for my classroom. Then we went and got some ice cream and sat in the car and talked and ate it. After words he drove me around to where some of his family used to live which was kind of fun for both of us. Then we went back to our hotel and enjoyed the rest of our night together. It was super crazy because we happened to run into some of Kasons really good friends who were also staying at the hotel, Blaine and Cambria. They were going to conference too! Small world!
Sunday morning we woke up and had breakfast and then just relaxed until it was time to start getting ready. We were really excited to go to conference! We even watched all 3 sessions before ours. We had to be at the Conference Building by 12:30 and so we only waited in line for a quick minute and then we got to go inside. That building is so incredible! There was the most special spirit there and even though we had the furthest seats from the bottom, we were still so excited! ha ha ha The Sunday afternoon session was really good and we both sat there and took notes. I loved peaking over at Kasons notes. He is such an amazing man. How many of you know men who gather the most amazing spiritual thoughts and then write them on the smoke stacks of Peterbilts they have been drawing...umm yeah...I thought so! After conference we enjoyed the nice cool air and walked back to our car together. We then decided we were super hungry and after we got on the freeway and out of town a little we found an Olive Garden and ate some dinner. At this point we had been spiritual and physically fed and we were ready to venture on back home! We stopped in Nephi to get gas and we ran into one of Kasons Trucking friends. It is always so fun to see people that Kas knows on the road. You wont believe this but I can almost point them out too when were on the freeway! I did it a few times this weekend and I think it blew Kason away that I could remember their names and trucks. I told him I was a WAY better wife than he bargained for! :) We got home and back to the real world, which is always a bummer! What is even more of a bummer is your cute husband reminding you that he has MONDAY off! YUCK! I was so sad that I couldnt stay home and have fun with him. I supposed it wont hurt as bad next week when I have Fall Break!
