Wrekker Kase Prisbrey October 25th 2013!
-Wrekker Kase Prisbrey-
After our appointment on Thursday, Kason and I went to Durangos for dinner. In the car I noticed I was having a few contractions but nothing serious. By the time dinner was over I was a very consistent 5 minutes apart. When we got home I got in the bath to try and soothe the pain. I was 3 minutes apart...literally every single time. I went downstairs and I was dressed with bags in hand. Kason said, "Whoa! This is it huh!?" as he got up to get our things. We both knew this wasnt false labor and that our sweet baby boy would be joining our family within a few hours. We arrived at Labor and Delivery and they admitted us. She said I was dilated to a 5 and she stretched me out to make things move along. Within a few minutes of being there they ordered the epidural. I was really scared to have a big needle poking me but my contractions were hurting really bad at this point. They gave me the epidural and after a while I felt like only one side was numb. I could kick one leg and not even move the other. So they adjusted the IV in my back and let us rest until it was time. We were dilating really fast and by midnight we were all the way to a 10. Both of our families had arrived and were waiting out in the waiting room. The hospital was SO busy and so they let us rest and take a nap until Wrekker was in the right position to push. The nurse had me start pushing around 4:00. Luckily, I had called my mom in a few minutes before to talk to her and so she just stayed and helped. Kason was so sweet and helpful the entire time and made me feel like everything was going to be okay. We literally pushed for maybe six contractions before she told me I had to stop and wait for the doctor. Everyone could already see his head and all of his hair. Dr. Chalmers came in and I pushed once and then we were all just talking and laughing because I literally felt amazing. I couldnt feel anything and it was the most wonderful experience. I had made everyone laugh and I was laughing so hard that Wrekker literally flew right out! We werent even contracting. Wrekker was finally here! He weighed 7 pounds and 8 ounces was 20.5 inches long. He was born at 4:32 AM. He was beautiful! Most babies arent very cute but he truly was so handsome and everyone could see it! He had so much hair! During the clean up process Wrekker got a small cut on his head and we cant figure out how it happened. It didnt phase him though and he was such a trooper through all of his tests. We spent two nights in the hospital and left on Saturday night. Our little family couldnt feel more complete! We are smitten over this handsome little boy and cant believe that he is ours for eternity!
