Optician
Optician
Matthew had a return visit to the opticians today. He seems to be doing well with his glasses although he will need a new pair - partly because hes grown so needs a bigger size. He will still only need to wear them for a couple of hours a day for close-up work, which is good news.
The optician carried out some different tests on Matthew today, including showing him a book of images which can be viewed in 3D. Matthew was able to recognise all the pictures, which indicates that he doesnt have a significant squint. He was able to recognise the letters on the chart with both eyes open, but when his good eye was covered he wasnt able to make out the letters very well because he is long sighted.
Apparently the worse case scenario if the glasses havent helped to correct his vision by the time he is 7 is that he will need to visit the hospital who will provide him with special glasses that are "fogged out" in his good eye to increase the strength of his bad eye.
Both of Matthews bottom centre teeth are now wobbling, but weve not yet needed a visit from the tooth fairy.
