Matthew finished school today for the Christmas and New Year break, and was very happy to come home with his first Level 2 reading book. He completed Level 1 today after successfully reading the last book in the series, and is the first child in his year to do so (although he is the eldest). He has also started reading Level 2 English books at home in the Usborne First Reading series, but doesnt recognise many of the words yet, as he only has a chance to look at them at bedtime.
Matthew was excited to finish school and is now counting the sleeps / days until Christmas using his advent calendars.
