Football club
Matthew was invited to attend the local childrens football club with his friend Isaac this evening. Louise phoned the organiser beforehand because they are already fully booked, but it was fine for Matthew to attend because not all of the children attend every week. Matthew did really well and participated from the beginning - we expected him to be shy to start with and to take a while to join in.
The football club teaches very basic skills training, so Matthew was able to have a go at running between cones, kicking a ball between cones, and crawling backwards through a tunnel. Matthew didnt quite get the tunnel task right, so he insisted on practising it again at home this evening. The instructor shares my first name, which Matthew got quite excited about and insisted on telling me when he came home.
Hopefully Matthew will want to go again - its a good chance for him to get some exercise and meet other children. He also enjoys playing football with me in the garden so will help him develop one of his interests.
