Trends in Decorating: Simple Ways to Transform Your Child’s Bedroom
For some, decorating your child’s bedroom can be a daunting task – and an expensive one. But to create a designer look, you don’t have to have loads of cash sitting around. These can be switched out easily whenever you or your child feels the need for a little change. · Wallpaper and wall decals: Wallpaper may sound old-fashioned, but it’s coming back into style with a bang. It’s available in all sorts of kid-friendly themes and patterns and in many cases is sold as self-adhesive temporary wallpaper. Customized wall decalsand personalized growth charts are other simple, fun and temporary ways to add flair and personality to your kiddo’s room.
· Accents: If you can find basic furniture pieces – a bed, dresser, bookcase and desk – that will serve as staples in your child’s room despite his or her growth, then you will save a lot of money in the long term. That’s where accents play a role. Lamps, throws, pillows, curtains and knickknacks in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes can be easily switched out, remade and repurposed throughout your child’s stay in his or her bedroom. And depending on your bargain shopping and DIY skills, you don’t have to spend a fortune to have a chic, stylish room, no matter your kid’s age. Rugs are also a fast and easy way to transform the look and feel of a room. They are a centerpiece that can be used as the inspiration for your color and patterns schemes.
Most parents today will tell their kids they aren’t made of money, but that doesn’t mean they want to deny their children a place to call their own. The trouble is, kids can change their minds frequently and they grow up so quickly.
