Return to the Dinosaur Park
Return to the Dinosaur Park
Yesterday we took Matthew (and Daniel) for a return visit to Tenby Dinosaur Park for the bank holiday. Matthew had a great time again, and was able to go on a couple of rides he was too young for last time - Motor Quads and Orbiters. We both enjoyed the Orbiters, which are a bit like bumper cars. We would have stayed longer but the weather was unusually hot and there was no shade. Even so, we still managed to go round the dinosaur walk again - Matthew didnt find the dinosaurs scary this time - and go on all of the rides Matthew wanted to do.
Matthew has recently developed an interest in the arts. Twice last week he decided to "read" me (make up) a bedtime story, which seemed to involve defeating bad guys acted out with his toys (one of which was always called "Ronno"), and this evening he put on a rock concert with his "band", pretending his school friends Isaac, Ethan and Dylan were on the drums, tambourine and piano while he played his toy electric guitar. I couldnt make out all of the lyrics to his songs, but one was about a potty, another was about Ben 10, and another included the words "if you are Batman or a ladybird".
A while ago I bought Matthew a space-rocket duvet, and tonight when he went to bed he pretended to fly into space in the rocket - with the "British Gas Team"! When I asked him what the relevance of the British Gas Team were to his rocket, he said, "like in the advert!". It turns out that hes been paying attention to the commercial which depicts British Gas engineers flying round little planets in space in a van.
Matthews bottom tooth is still wobbling but hasnt yet fallen out.
