Holidays

For our holiday this year, we took the boys for a repeat of our 2011 trip to Legoland followed by Peppa Pig World.  Four years ago, Daniel wasnt born and Matthew was a similar age to the age Daniel is now, so we thought it was a good time to revisit.  Matthew seemed to remember some of the trip although this may be from our photos and videos rather than directly.  With Daniel in tow, Matthew wasnt able to choose all of the rides but was happy to join in with the younger themed activities again, and actually went on the Duplo train twice when Daniel refused to go on the second time because he couldnt go in the driving seat.

As well as the Duplo train, we revisited the miniature cities, helicopter ride, boat ride, and the splash park (now in a new location).  Now Matthew is 6, we also took him on some bigger rides too - he went with Louise on the dragon roller-coaster which he thoroughly enjoyed and claimed was his favourite ride of the trip, and I took him on a river splash ride with rotating circular boats (we got soaked).  He did seem more adventurous this time too, and was happy to go on some rides which he probably would have been too scared to try a couple of years ago.

In Peppa Pig World, we revisited all but one of the rides - last time we did everything there, I think, and this year we only missed the helicopters which I remembered being a long wait last time.  Despite being a little old for many of the activities, Matthew really enjoyed himself and even wanted to meet Peppa Pig again!  It was great to see him make the most of the trip as I doubt well visit Peppa Pig World again even if we do end up in Legoland sometime in the future.

As an additional stop on our adventures this year, we also visited Bekonscot model village and railway.  When I told Matthew about this he thought it sounded boring but he actually enjoyed himself, having a ride on a train, looking round the village and playing in the play area which had a pirate ship and water cannons.
