Park Shin Hye shows significant weight loss

Park Shin Hye shows significant weight loss

Article: Park Shin Hye, hardcore dieting? shrunken face + tiny body

Source: TV Report via Daum

1. [+1,383, -41] She looked fresh and pretty when she had more weight on her but now she looks aged with the weight loss, it makes me feel bad for her

2. [+1,029, -18] She looked pretty in a flashy way even when she was chubby though...

3. [+314, -4] .... Sometimes losing weight doesnt guarantee that youll be prettier

4. [+291, -5] She really does look weird and not pretty here... go back to your old weight, Shin Hye-ya...

5. [+265, -7] She was prettier chubbier. Now she looks average and tired.

6. [+259, -6] There are some body types who become Barbie dolls like Han Ye Seul when you lose weight and some who just end up looking tired all the time. It shouldnt be a rule that being chubby means youre not pretty and being thin automatically means you are.

7. [+238, -7] Too thin... not a good look

8. [+173, -4] Id rather she look healthy ^^

9. [+141, -2] Who told her to lose weight

10. [+140, -9] If she lost weight for the sake of beauty and not for her drama character, Id say its a fail. She looks like a starving North Korean.

Luna reveals she lost more weight for her solo promos

Luna reveals she lost more weight for her solo promos

Article: Luna, "I lost 8 kg last year, and lost weight again for solo promos"

Source: TV Daily via Daum

1. [+322, -56] Stop getting liposuction

2. [+226, -8] Too bad your weight has nothing to do with your new song. Its not good to lose too much weight.

3. [+211, -5] She does look difference but why? Was it necessary? All it matters is that you have a good song

4. [+93, -1] She seems to have low self esteem when it comes to her body. I liked Luna in the past for who she was, why is she being like this?

5. [+69, -4] It does look like she got liposuction on her legs though...

6. [+64, -1] She looks like Chupa Chups with the excessive weight loss. Super skinny body but huge head...

7. [+50, -3] So much prettier before... nothing unique about her anymore

8. [+57, -17] I think some people just need to realize the reality of their looks. A lot of overweight women tend to think that theyll be pretty and popular with men when they lose weight but its not always the case. Kang Min Kyung or Sulli will look pretty when they lose weight but will people like Kim Shin Young look pretty after weight loss? Lunas charms do not lie in her looks so its upsetting that shes so focused on that. I think its because shes surrounded by members who receive attention for their looks and not their talent ?? please just focus on your looks

9. [+32, -6] Some people think that weight loss is all it takes to look prettier but its not. You look at people like Kim Shin Young and Luna whove gone through weight loss but you dont really feel that theyve gotten prettier.. just healthier? I applaud her effort but its sad that nothings changed for the better about her.

10. [+37, -19] Hul whats up with the comments ??? Luna works out really hard and manages herself strictly. Shes a good singer and a bright person ??? I support her!!

FDA Approves New Weight-Loss Device

Surgically implanted port allows obese patients to drain some contents from stomach after meal

TUESDAY, June 14, 2016 (HealthDay News) -- A new surgically implanted device to treat obese patients has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The AspireAssist device uses a tube to drain a portion of the stomach contents after every meal. Its meant to be used by people who have been unable to lose weight and maintain weight loss using nonsurgical treatments. The FDA approval is for people 22 and older.
The device is recommended for obese people with a body mass index (BMI) between 35 and 55, the FDA said. BMI is a rough estimate of body fat based on height and weight measurements. A BMI of 30 or more is considered obese, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The device shouldnt be used in people with eating disorders. It also isnt intended for short-term use in moderately overweight people, according to the FDA.
With the AspireAssist, a tube is inserted in the stomach and connected to a port valve placed flush against the skin of the abdomen. About 20 to 30 minutes after each meal, the patient attaches an external connector and tubing to the port valve, opens the valve, and drains some stomach contents into the toilet.
The process takes five to 10 minutes and removes about 30 percent of the calories consumed in the meal, the FDA said.
The approval was based on the results of a clinical trial of 111 patients who used the AspireAssist and a control group of 60 patients who made lifestyle changes only. After one year, patients in the AspireAssist group lost an average of 12 percent of their total body weight. The control group lost an average of less than 4 percent of their weight, researchers said.
"The AspireAssist approach helps provide effective control of calorie absorption, which is a key principle of weight management therapy," said Dr. William Maisel. Hes the deputy director for science and chief scientist in the FDAs Center for Devices and Radiological Health.
"Patients need to be regularly monitored by their health care provider and should follow a lifestyle program to help them develop healthier eating habits and reduce their calorie intake," Maisel said in an agency news release.
Side effects associated with use of the AspireAssist include indigestion, nausea, vomiting, constipation and diarrhea. There are also a number of risks associated with the placement of the device, including pain, bleeding, infection, inflammation, accidental puncture of the stomach or intestinal wall, and death, the FDA said.
The device is made by Pennsylvania-based Aspire Bariatrics.

Weight Watchers One Year Anniversary

Weight Watchers One Year Anniversary

I can hardly believe it, but Ive been doing Weight Watchers for a whole year.

I.  Feel.  So.  Good.

What is that super annoying motivational saying?  Work the program and the program works?  Yeah well, annoying or not, its true.  I have lost 79.6 pounds.  Thats an average of ~1.5 pounds per week.  Slow, sustainable (hopefully!) progress.

Im not going to spend a whole lot of time on this topic but I did feel it necessary to mark the occasion.  And I want to give a shout out to all my Weight Watchers friends.  I know of at least 5 people who have started on Weight Watchers after seeing some of my progress and every single one of them have made some serious progress on their own weight loss goals.  And that fuels me to keep going.

So those of you ladies who told me that I was an inspiration, just know that it works both ways.  You are keeping me going.  When I feel like I need a sausage biscuit or an extra slice of pizza, I think of you and how I cant let you down.

Plus, like I told Jenny, in true big sister fashion, I am TOTALLY claiming some of her success as my own.  And feeling successful is a special kind of high in its own right - not unlike the high of eating chocolate.  So, theres that.

Also, just a little update on the vacation blip.  It took me 10 days to gain 13.2 pounds (thats so crazy, I know!  Shameful even!) and 16 days to get it back off again.  Not too shabby!  That means it really is possible to purposefully get off the wagon, take a little break, recharge your batteries and then get your @$$ right.  Back. On!

Lastly, the kiddos had to get in on the picture taking action.
